Maybe so, but this song has some awesome bass work in it. It seems like it had an extended intro, maybe just a couple extra bars. Did I imagine that?

ETA: This has got to be an alternate version with that sax solo, eh?

Oy: one of the uber-uber-LNs of all time.

This was a perfectly enjoyable set, tho' a bustout would've been most welcome. It was like one of AL's NewWave-centric '80s sets, but without the rarities.

TANC: Listening via my headphones today, and I was struck by the same thing: that bassist (one Taylor or the other) is really going to town on this one. And yes, this does seem to be an extended edit.

On the other hand: not M@W again!!! I'll be chundering now...

Renee must be lurking here. Her comment about the bass-playing all but confirms it. :)

It's been a while since I stopped by but I was able to hear today's set. Not bad, but boy is Renee dead. No enthusiasm at all. I don't get it -- wouldn't this show be a DJ's dream job? Edit: but props to her for the Tylenol/Halloween news -> "I Want Candy" transition. Need more like that!

As for the music, lots of frequent flyers. BOS Space Age Love Song (especially for not being "I Ran"). Man, look at that hair!

actually (and this is the 2nd time it's happened) she appears to be quoting the Wiki page for "Rio": radio programmers paid closer attention to the catchy melody and insistent, intricate bass line

Renee cribbing her spontaneous comments from Wikipedia? I could see that.

John Taylor is the Brian May of Duran Duran
(If you say Queen sucks, someone invariably says "But Brian May is such an awesome guitar player" or "Brian May has such great tone.")
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!
