Paula Cole "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?"
Has she got Sarah McLaughlin singing backup on this? Sure sounds like one of her tunes.

and how does she think cowboys treat women, exactly? No better than the oaf she's married to.

WOS3 Sublime -- the Police with less brains and more tats.

One of any number of lameass SoCal ska/reggae-influenced bands that managed to catch on. See also 311, No Doubt, and others I have managed to block from my memory.

Jeez, now we get DMB? Yes, this set is all-LN, all the time.
Let's get right to it.

I think the Dirty Heads, too, fall into that category.

This set was wretched.  At least the past two or so weeks most of the sets at least tried to be interesting.  But today, everything was so LN it wasn't even funny, except for REM which might as well have been because I couldn't distinguish it from anything else they've done.

"third song"... "fourth song"... "fifth song"... why does she need to say that for every song. We can count, RR.

Has she stopped saying "Tune number one"  "Tune number two"?

Isn't it funny the things that turn you off?

I've heard it said you fall in love with the whole person, right away.  But you fall out of love, bit by excruciating bit.

granted '96 is not my favorite year but here was my entire 1996 Wish List during the AL era, and the asterisked ones are songs she actually played.

*Pepper (Butthole Surfers)
*Popular (Nada Surf)
You’re One (Imperial Teen)
*Ladykillers (Lush)
*That Thing You Do! (the Wonders)
Bohemian Rhapsody (The Braids)
*My Maria (Brooks & Dunn)
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

That only applies if you were in love to begin with. :P

TANC - last night, on a whim, I created a pseudo 10@10 for 1996 using Renee's intro/outro and the usual KFOG sounds.  Here's what I came up with:

 1. Paul Westerberg - Love Untold
 2. Tina Turner - Confidential
(Commercial: M2 watchers)
 3. Beck - Lord Only Knows
(TV: NewsRadio - betting next song on the radio sucks)
 4. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Asshole
(Johnny Cash talks about Beck)
 5. Johnny Cash - Rowboat
(Hit number 6-6-6...)
 6. The Quad City DJ's - C'mon N' Ride It (The Train)
(And now for something completely different...)
 7. Squirrel Nut Zippers - Bad Businessman
(Movie: The Rock - Nic Cage is a Beatlemaniac with a vinyl fetish)
 8. Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Shallow Grave
(Movie: Bound - cup of coffee)
 9. Prince - Dinner With Delores
10. Liz Phair - Rocket Boy

Using Audacity and some YouTube clips, I think I did better job than today's effort (if I do say so myself).  If anyone wants to listen to it, I can upload it somewhere.  ;)
