Hmm... me thinks this is an encore 10@10 from November 20th, 2012:

1. Midnight Oil - Blue Sky Mine
2. Cowboy Junkies - Rock and Bird
3. Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence
4. The Pretenders - When Will I see You
(Movie: Kindergarten Cop "It's not a tumor!")
5. Paul Simon - The Obvious Child
6. Enigma - Sadness
(News: Donald Trump's Taj Mahal, the Eighth Wonder of the World.)
7. Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
8. Iggy Pop - Candy
(News: Mapplethorpe and 2 Live Crew rile censors)
9. Snap! - Power
10. Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U

apparently Renee is there today; she came on after the "classic" and said "I didn't make a new 10@10 today because I wanted to sleep in"

I think this is an example of her new passive-aggressive approach to her critics (as opposed to the AGGRESSION with which she used to respond), and yes I do believe that includes playing "Don't Stop" on purpose during the '87 10@10.

Here's her response to my spreadsheet suggestion:

Great suggestion but that's for organized people, I am a go with my gut/ vibe kind of person (and I am too old to change). Especially with music.... Spreadsheets and music listening?? You just blew my mind.

She just called you a nerd.

Do we really think that Renee picks the songs and has such limited musical knowledge that she only picks hits and the same ones over and over again? Or is she just handed a playlist, which, like the rest of the day's programming is hits and repetition based? I suspect the latter.

Oh, I think it's about 90% the latter. I do suspect that she has an option on a couple of songs, but generally doesn't do anything productive with it.

What she doesn't seem to understand is that she isn't listening to music, she's presenting it.  Totally different head.  It may not be an art form, but there can be an art to it.  Dave and Annalisa recognized that, Renee probably never will.

Still and all, I am over it.  I'm not going to post mean things on fb, that's not who I am.  I'm sure she's a lovely person otherwise...

That's a good point. The show sucks relative to what it used to be, but it's still worth listening to (or we're all just creatures of habit).

I've pretty much stopped my sniping activities.  It all became too negative.  People got a right to bitch, I suppose, but there comes a point when it's just petulant whining.
