4 Jan 2013: it's... 1977
« on: January 04, 2013, 09:43:24 AM »
by rights it ought to be a '70s day but I suspect we might get mid-to-late-'80s.

Tim: "the year that introduced me to my favorite rock artist of all time". Well THAT narrows it down.  ::)

ah, '77 -- and we start with Crapton.  AL played "Lay Down Sally" at 6am, so I did NOT need to hear it twice today.

It's one of those songs for which once a month is too many. LN1

Can't access FB right now but I'd guess we're informed as to what the price of a gallon of gas was.  :o

agreed. And "Alison" is LN2. So, is Costello Tim's all-time-fave?

Dear God. Unlike the Crapton, I enjoy the Costello, but let's face it - it has no business being played within 10@10.

So far BOS CS&N, pretty much by default. Who knows, maybe we'll get "Hotel California"!  :P

LN4: Marley. Like his 4 or 5 biggest "hits" don't show up on KFOG every freakin' day.

I thought the Dead's version was older.

This Marley is great, but probably in the LN category. Anything from Legend is, but he's one of those artists (like the Stones, for example) whose lesser known songs are often the same caliber as their hits.
