30 Nov 2012: It's Rain
« on: November 30, 2012, 09:42:26 AM »
Rain is today's theme.  I don't know why.

Oh!  Hey man, it's raining...
and any fool knows
a dog needs a home
a shelter
from pigs on the wing

I guess I have to give her (or somebody) props for addressing the situation!

The cover of Mission in the Rain (an old Jerry Garcia song) was a pretty big surprise!
Let's get right to it.

Pretty cool, I was totally unfamiliar with it.  Renee seems to be much more adventurous on theme sets.  A few tried and true, and a bunch of cool obscurities.

My observation too. The Randy Newman and Dylan songs were both out of left field as well. Could easily have passed on Blind Melon however.
Let's get right to it.

A guy named Emory Joseph (real name Derek Sorrentino, used to live in Marin).
Let's get right to it.

1. The Doors - Riders On The Storm
(Movie: Forrest Gump - Tom Hanks gets rained on)
2. Travis - Why Does It Always Rain On Me?
3. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Who'll Stop The Rain
(Movie: Singing In The Rain)
4. Emory Joseph - Mission In The Rain
5. Led Zeppelin - The Rain Song
6. Heather Nova - London Rain
(Movie: Rain Man)
7. Adele - Right As Rain
8. Randy Newman - Rider In The Rain
(Movie: Vacation)
9. Blind Melon - No Rain
10. Bob Dylan - Buckets Of Rain

Holy shit -- I actually missed a good, creative, spur-of-the-moment theme set...

Props for playing "Right as Rain" rather than "Set Fire to the Rain". Nice: the Dylan and the Randy Newman
