17 Oct 2012: it's... 1975
« on: October 17, 2012, 09:56:39 AM »
will it be nuggets or overplayed #1's? Only Icky (who wasn't yet born in 1975) knows for sure...

I predict Springsteen, Aerosmith and Elton John.

meanwhile, pre-set on the stream: Meiko (?) yet another Feist-alike. Is there no end to these women?  It's like there's a binderful of 'em, or something.

BOS Dog Day Afternoon.

one of the uber-uber-LNs of all time: "Bohemian Rhapsody" -- and another UK release date situation.

I still remember the first time Scott Muni played this on WNEW-FM -- "wait'll ya hear this wacky thing -- it's the #1 single in England!"

I don't care how unnecessary it is. Turn it up!

AUTO BAAAAHHHN.

BOS, signed in just to say this.

P.S. Liked Bohemian Rhapsody, despite being overplayed elsewhere.

sorry, I never need to hear it again, ever.

But *HUGE* BOS2 to Kraftwerk.  When I went to see The Master @ the Grand Lake a few weeks back, they played this entire album over their fab sound system before the movie.

BOS3 first-ever SNL sketch.

BOS4 another actual underplayed nugget: Pointers, "How Long (Betcha Gotta Chick Onna Side)". Lawd have mercy -- this appears to be a bustout! And it's the loooong version too. So kudos for that.

I'm gonna BOS it anyway. It takes me back to 75. And I used to think the breathy interlude was "because it's too quiet". Makes no sense, but there ya go.
