in 1988 I was working at ABC, and lucky enuf to be listening to British radio via a satellite hook-up. I fell in love with "Perfect" which was a #1 single in the UK;  that it did next-to-nothing on the US pop charts was a crime. However -- and this is really weird -- it became a country hit for a band called Baillie & the Boys in 1990.

Estimated Dead; F.Mac; Marley; Heart. -- LNs, all.

VHM: The Heartbreakers (not the Petty band)

BOS1 Neil's "Hurricane"; BOS2 Yes' "Wondrous Stories"

BOS3 Mink DeVille, "Cadillac Walk"

uber-LN: Supertramp.

uber-uber-LN: "Black Betty"-- but wait, bonus points for playing the rarely-heard long version..

I was hoping Rob would make good on his promise to play Ronnie Spector's "Say Goodbye to H'wood" in a '77 set -- well, maybe next month.  And damn: I missed Nat'l Lampoon's hilarious "MisterRogers" parody with Chris Guest and Bill Murray. "Would'ya like to go to the magic kingdom?"

That's 9 songs right there. Was the 10th the lone worthwhile track?
Let's get right to it.

Tull, Mountain, and the White Man's Burdon.

BOS Beatles, "I Got a Feeling"

LN: CSNY, teachin'.

Mungo Jerry are kinda LN too but we didn't get a "Summer" set this year, so HM.

OTOH, I probably don't need to hear anybody's version of "Summertime Blues" ever again.

a commercial for EJ's first LP, followed by "Border Song"  -- BOS2.

uber-BOS3 PG&E -- the looooong version.

and speaking of long: GFR, "I'm Your Captain".
