BOS4 LRB, some welcome pop.

Blorf.  Mediocre Manilow impersonation.

light-years above him artistically. (and I say that as someone who likes Barry)

and speaking of endless: if this is the looooooooong "FM" I'm taking a bathroom break (and I'm a guy who likes the Dan)

anyone remember an early-'90s band called Cruel Shoes who sounded a LOT like Steely Dan?

And "Pump it Up" was necessary?  Or "Badlands" for that matter...

well, no neither was very necessary. But in the rock-radio universe "Werewolves" is infinitely more overplayed, I'd say.

Wonder what the "surprise" that got scratched due to scratches was? One of my requests probably.

7/11/12 - Wednesday! 1978!

1. Parliament - Flashlight
2. Bruce Springsteen - Badlands
(News: Keith Richards faces drug charges for heroin possession. Put on probation, has to give concert in Toronto.)
3. The Rolling Stones - When The Whip Comes Down
(Movie: Animal House Bluto (John Belushi) "Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the going gets tough ... The tough get going! Who's with me. Let's go!")
4. Elvis Costello and the Attractions - Pump It Up
5. Blondie - Hanging On The Telephone
6. Jay Ferguson - Thunder Island
(TV: Fantasy Island - Tattoo (Hervé Villechaize) "De Plane.")
7. Little River Band - Reminiscing
(Movie: Animal House - Stephen Bishop "I gave my love a cherry that had no stone." Bluto (John Belushi) Smashes guitar 'Sorry.")
8. Boston - Don't Look Back
(News: Video tape players hit the market ... for $1,000 or less)
9. Steely Dan - FM (No Static At All)
10. Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London
(TV: The Incredible Hulk - David Banner (Lou Ferrigno) "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when i'm angry.")

This wasn't unbearable but... awfully pedestrian.
