The Peak, week of 6/11/12
« on: June 11, 2012, 07:32:31 AM »
Mon 6/11/12: 1989

REM, TP, U2, XTC, Cure, Todd, Wire, Henley.

"Cosmic Thing" may actually be worse than "Love Shack", but it's nowhere near as overexposed.

Definitely worse: Anderson, Bruford Wakeman etc, "Brother of Mine". (damn, this one was endless)

Wire?  Which one?  Eardrum Buzz?

I remember hearing that on Live 105 in 89

ETA: yes, it was Eardrum Buzz.  Nice pick.  I also like The Want of a Nail ny Rundgren in that set.

Tull, Nilsson, Elton, rare Bowie ("5 Years"), rare Stills ("It Doesn't Matter"), ditto Stones ("Shake Your Hips"). BOSFRAs to those last 3.

and of COURSE we got "Sentimental Lady" -- 14 joys and a will to be merry, indeed.

VHMs Billy P, outta space and Alice C, outta skool.
