WOS contender: Cher
overwrought to the max

well, it's *CHER*. That's kinda the point. One of the few Diane Warren songs that works for me, mainly bceause of who's singing it.

BOS4 JJ, "19 4 Evah"

And I just got *that* segue (if I could turn back time I'd be 19 forever -- nice)

early Nirvana -- meh but VHM for historical value.

Here we go.  A big BOS for JJ.  Saw him in concert that year & he told the audience right off that they were going to plauy the entirety of the new album (Blaze of Glory), "...but don't worry, we'll take a short break & come back and play all those other songs you came to hear."  Turned out to be on of the best shows I've ever seen, and I went out and got the CD the next day.

To paraphrase an earlier sound bite, a joke + time = not funny anymore, which is how I feel about Cher, but I admire her personally.

agree tho on JJ

Hey, Mark. Where ya been?

been getting my startup off the ground (see www.fastorsystems.com for a few details).  I'm back working in Sta Clara, near Great America.  Are you still in working in Sunnyvale somewhere?  You wanna do lunch sometime?

Coolness!  I'm still in Sunnyvale at Zoll, thought we just got bought by a giant Japanese company (Asahi Kasei). Lunch sounds snazzy. I'm so busy with Ruddigore that I haven't had time to breathe, but that's over this weekend.

Now I'm really glad I could log in & listen.   I once made a My3Songs containing this & two other songs that mention the Beach Boys and name drop one of their songs.

My work email is on the website, drop me a line.  I broke my old phone* with all my 10at10 contacts in it, so I don't have your number, etc.

*as in dropped it & it shattered into pieces!

Although this set may have been full of Trinas, I do find it noteworthy that the Cher was the only significant Top 40 hit ("Personal Jesus" also reached the lower realms, although in early 1990). Often the regional 10@10's consist of nothing but the hits.

Making up, perhaps, for Wed's '76 set which was *all* hits except for Patti Smith. Tho' all these songs were on AOR and/or alt-radio playlists, certainly.
