I ended up in a 90-min meeting, but seems like I didn't miss anything. Afraid to look at the entire list.

5/9/12: Bicentennial 1976!

(Ad: Mickey Mouse celebrates the bicentennial)
1. ELO - Livin' Thing
2. George Harrison - This Song
( TV: Super Friends - Superman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man and the Wonder Twins with Gleek)
3. Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker...s - American Girl
(TV: Charlie's Angels - Jill (Farrah Fawcett-Majors) wants to put a face...and a body to that voice: "Hello Angels!")
4. Patti Smith - Ask The Angels
(TV: Charlie's Angels - Opening - Charlie (John Forsythe)"Once upon a time, there were three little girls who went to the police academy...")
5. Jackson Browne - The Pretender
(Movie: Logan's Run - Jessica: (Jenny Agutter): And you must have me? Logan: (Michael York): Yes. Something like that.")
6. Seals and Crofts - Get Closer
7. Elvin Bishop - Fooled Around and Fell In Love
(News: President-elect Carter looks to stimulate the economy, while Billy Carter loses to mayoral race to the town barber)
8. Steve Miller Band - Take The Money And Run
9. Flamin' Groovies - Shake Some Action
(News: Happy Birthday, America. Harry Reasoner drops in on Great American Birthday Party. Of course, it's foggy in San Francisco)
10. The Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing

wow, that was LN City. Other than The Patti Smith, that is. Seals & Crofts get a Best Cheeze award.  Either BeeGees ballad that was requested would've been better than "YSBD" for the umpteenth (in fact, 2nd time this year iirc).

ETA: well, I could've SWORN we heard "YSDB" this year, but I couldn't find it anywhere. However we DID hear the same ELO song in our last 1976 set in Feb.

When I think of Live 105 back in the day (of Steve Masters) I think of Wire 'Eardrum Buzz'.  If they played that today, I think my own penis would detach!

It just seems like everything is all Live 105 around here lately, that a significant song like "The Pretender" gets no notice at all.

I noticed it.  It's boring.  But I had originally decided to take the high road and say nothing at all.  After all, it's just my personal taste in the matter of all things Jackson Browne.

It sounds like two (or three) songs trying to fight it out.   I think it's the extended bridge that does it.
