BOS2 to Joni, giving in to her jazzier side.

KEE-RAP, was that Cheech and Chong in the background on the Joni tune? I've never noticed that before.

VHM TSOP MFSB.

With some nice frosting on the cupcakes from the Three Degrees.

P.S.  Yup, that was C&C, on Joni's last recorded evidence of a sense of humor (I'm still not sure about her cover of "You're So Square (Baby I Don't Care)")

er, i believe that was a couple of old jazz guys -- perhaps Lambert, Hendrix & Ross, who did the tune originally (assuming they were still alive in '74).

so, this is song 8, right?  I want to wait until I  hear if song 9 or 10 is from Mars Hotel before casting my official BOS for Boz.

One more chance: I think the Chicago tune (Call on Me?) is #9.
Let's get right to it.

If you're gonna play "Twisted" -- which is always a nice idea -- you really have to play it in conjunction with "Trouble Child," and you really have to make it Tune Number Ten.

I'm just sayin'.

I heartily agree.

WOS to "Rock On" because of Dave's missed opportunity for a JG trib.

Sambo?  Mr. Steppinfetchit?  Darky?

In Taiwan until the late 80's there was a brand of toothpaste that showed a very similar image except it was a tophat, not a chef's hat on the head.  It was called Darkie.  Later someone must have pointed out that this was politically incorrect, so they just changed the 'K' to an 'L' & presto, Darlie, which won't offend anyone right?  But when I got there in '92 you could still find the original Darkie stuff at flea markets.

What Might Have Been Award to David Essex, who made some great pop singles after "Rock On" that didn't make it in the US.
