The pioneering bluegrass banjo picker died of natural causes in Nashville. Scruggs and his late partner Lester Flatt were responsible for "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," possibly the most recognized bluegrass tune ever, as well as "The Ballad of Jed Clampett," the theme from
The Beverly Hillbillies

I'm glad I got to see him at HSBG. His band always had a prime slot on the main stage.
