5 March 2012: it's... 1996
« on: March 04, 2012, 05:10:31 PM »
no clues so far. I was thinking we might get a Ronnie Montrose-active year. "Town Without Pity" is '78 and we were just there. He did play on a ziilion other people's records, tho'.

ETA: per the FB gang, KFOG just ran the promo indicating it's '96. *sigh*.

1973 had three good ones:
 "Space Station No. 5"
 "Bad Motor Scooter"
 "Rock Candy"

And "Rock The Nation" to boot.  Heck, any track from the first Montrose album works for me.

I'm hoping AL uses some of her backlog of '96 requests (I've got several I've made repeatedly, like Lush and Imperial Teen)... but I ain't holdin' mah breath.

A good day to see what the Sound is doing, perhaps.

Hard to believe it's been 3 months since our last '96 visit -- here's that setlist for comparison

The Sound is doing '81 (and leading off with Billy Squier, godhelpus), so I'll take my chances with '96.

I'd agree, even though I didn't know what it was!

not sure who this is that can't stop the rain.  But cute seg into Garbage's "rain" song... which is borderline LN to my ears.

ETA: it was Los Lobos.

I was never a big fan of "Natural One" but proxy of Gaz iirc.

Los Lobos. Pretty decent mix of songs so far. Bummed that I missed the Johnny Cash tune though.
Let's get right to it.

Chris Isaak is LN as an artist, never mind individual songs.

Great minds. Was just about to post that this song isn't overplayed in the least, but I don't need to hear Chris Isaak under any circumstances.
