« on: February 06, 2012, 07:49:43 AM »
Mon 2/6/12: 1985

eeek2.  Petty, for the last time: don't come around here no more with your broken wings, mister.

WOS1: Crapton, revvah man, revvah man, revvah man.

BOS Fogerty: "RnR Girls" is much preferable to "Old man..." or "Centerfield".

LN: Bowie/Metheney -- this has been in every '85 set recently, it seems.

BOS2: JCM, "Minutes to Memories"

VHM DLR  -- he digs da gurls!

LN2: "Money 4 Nuthin'"

WOS2 Thorogood; WOS3 Heart.

woo hoo fo' da seven-two! Ya don't mess around with Stroud.

BOS1 Yes, "L-D R-A"; BOS2 da Stones, gettin' they rocks off.

BOS3 the Dan's "Midnight Cruiser", onetime Morey fave that sounds real good this morning.

Duuuude! it's a prog-fest!  VHMs ELP and Tull. I'm morphing into Rod!

WOS Grand Funk, stompin 'they feets.

LN: the Doobs find Jeezus. Why do I feel like their Jesus is a GOP one while the Byrds' Jesus was a lefty-Dem one?

I'd've preferred if the trailer for Deliverance had been followed by "Dueling Banjos", but Neil's banjos will have to suffice.

proxy of shray: the Moodies.

Jim Croce - Don't Mess Around With Jim
Yes - Long Distance Runaround
Rolling Stones - Rocks Off
Steely Dan - Midnight Cruiser
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Form The Beginning
Jethro Tull - Living In The Past
Grand Funk Railroad - Foot Stompin' Music
Doobie Brothers - Jesus Is Just Alright
Neil Young - Old Man
Moody Blues - I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)

ETA: The Drive now has Santana's "Smooth" in regular rotation.

Stroud? My Google search indicates he would be an NYPD officer killed in the line of duty in '72 and for whom a playground is now named.

Wed 2/8/12: 1979

paging Sniff'n' the Tears...

but we start out on the Highway to Hell. VHM.

LN1: Robert Palmer calls the doctor.

VHM ZZT: they bad.

VHM a midwest fave: Off-Broadway, "Full Moon Turn My Head Around" -- this one got zero NYC airplay.

BOS1 the goat at her least-goaty: "Sara".

Duuuude! the Hatchet's flirtin' with a WOS. It's like warmed-over Skynyrd covered with Aerosmith sauce.

WOS2 Journey -- I'm throbbin' retchin' and wheezin.'

damn, we've gone downhill fast: WOS3 Foreigner, giving bad "Head"

LN2: Supertramp; VHM Eagles, "Those Shoes"

AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Robert Palmer - Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)
ZZ Top - I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide
Off Broadway - Full Moon Turn My Head Around
Fleetwood Mac - Sara
Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster
Journey - Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'
Foreigner - Head Games
Supertramp - Goodbye Stranger
Eagles - Those Shoes

Thur 2/9/12: 1966!!

here's hoping we go to 11...

TOTHTS (Top of the Hour Twin-Spin): Beatles, "Taxman --> "She said She said"  BOSes 1 & 2.

BOS3 Shadows of Night -- I've always preferred this version of "G-L-O-R-I-A" to Van & Them's take.

Dylan takes like a woman. or something. VHM BBs.

BOS4 and proxy of Gaz, "Kicks"

BOS5 Stones havin' a breakdown; VHM Tempts.

uber-BOS6 Kinks.

Beatles - Taxman
Beatles - She Said She Said
Shadows of Knight - Gloria
Bob Dylan - Just Like a Woman
Beach Boys - Wouldn't It Be Nice
Paul Revere/Raiders - Kicks
Rolling Stones - 19th Nervous Breakdown
Temptations - (I Know) I'm Losing You
Kinks - Til The End Of The Day
Monkees - I'm A Believer

Fri 2/10/12: 1981

Bob shares a year with AL today; which set will have more LNs?? (I'm guessing Bob's will have more WOSes)

LN1: "Freeze-Frame". The Police channel Ricky Ricardo -- "every leetle thin' she does ees mazhik"

LN2 and WOS1: LoverSagaBoy, "Turn Me On the Loose"

Seger's been sounding good this week.  BOS "Tryin' to Live My Life w/out You"

LN3/WOS2: Journey.

all Triumph's songs sound the same so I can't tell if "Fight the Good Fight" is a bustout or not. WOS3 in any case.

WOS4: *Nobody* can stand it, Crapton.

Tom Cochrane to Red Rider: "hey guys, lets do a song that sounds like an outtake from The Wall! It'll be a big hit!"

NOOOOO! Bob plays the other half of LoverSagaBoy in the same set! WOS5 "Workin for the Weak End" (and I *do* mean WEAK)

LN4: "Abacab" There's a hole in this somewhere, alright.

J.Geils Band - Freeze Frame
Police - Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Saga - On The Loose
Bob Seger - Trying To Live My Life Without You
Journey - Open Arms
Triumph - Fight The Good Fight
Eric Clapton - I Can't Stand It
Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe
Loverboy - Working For The Weekend
Genesis - Abacab
