the great thing about the Drive's shorter list of active years is that the good years come up more often...

hooray for Rhymin' Simon. He's a consumated man...  which is better than being a constipated man, certainly.

Is that "Loves Me Like a Rock"?  That song annoys me.  I'll be over in a few minute; the Peak just went from Broooce's "Rosalita" to Edie Brickell's "Circle."  Can't tune out yet.

BOS EJ "Teacher I Need You" -- this one hasn't been played in ages. I used to play it back-to-back with ABBA's "When I Kissed the Teacher".

I've never heard this one!  Sounds like Elton had been listening to "Doctor My Eyes" a few times.

Not sure how to parse that.  I don't have a general dislike of Paul at all (only that song and "Slip Slidin' Away"), I hasten to emphasize.  "Like a Rock" is just too old-time-y for me, I s'pose.

YES! totally. Too bad the J-5 didn't cover this (as they did the Browne tune).

I'm surprised Kid Rock hasn't done a cover of "Can't You See" yet.

Kid Rock feat. ________.  Nelly? Fitty? The Game?

As I noted the other day, Waylon Jennings did a nice cover of this.

Rockin' Rod's missing a set with both ABB and MTB.  TCB!

Wax On -- Wax Off!  Frank gets easy BOS by singing of dental floss.  Maybe he can send his leftover wax to Mick Jagger's dad (is that "ceiling" wax or "sealing" wax? I never knew).

sealing wax, as in the old custom of sealing an envelope with a  blob of melted wax and stamping it with your seal or crest (you've seen it done in a hundred movies).

I never quite got Zappa's obsession with helium-voiced backup singers, tho'.

There's a lot not to get where Frankie Z's concerned.

Meantime, my own personal BOS goes to the Doobs, still as thrilling as the first time I ever heard "Long Train Runnin'."

few songs evoke summer '73 for me like that one does. and in lieu of Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Get Down" it'll have to suffice

Ah, and now the inevitable (it seems) Stealer's Wheel.
