sorry, I never "got" Macy Gray. Sounding like you're stoned is not a style.

glad I'm not alone in my dislike.  And you're closer to her target demo than I am.

here's a really old fart: Ralph Stanley (and the Clinch Mountain Boys) A Harldy Strictly Bluegrass staple.

I was lucky enough to be backstage at this year's HSBG and Ralph walked by and someone asked "Who's that woman?"  heh..  When you are old enough, or young enough, you kinda lose your genderizing features.  That's why really old drag queens work so well.  :)

ETA:   oops, my mistake, it's not Ralph Stanley's version that was used in the movie, but the Soggy Mountain Boys.

There were a couple of versions of "Man of Constant Sorrow" in the film. The one we heard today featured Dan Tyminski, who was a member of Alison Krauss' band at the time, but went solo after the success of O Brother.

Lots o' great movie clips in today's set. Big ups to John Cusack in High Fidelity.
Let's get right to it.

I had no idea they were Swedes.  They must have gotten a lot of Svensk Flickas.

A loud garage song @#10 after a full KFOG-centric and/or snoozy set has become a recurring theme.

And the Foghead got a little history lesson during the backsell, pointing out how the Hives were just recycling the Sonics from a previous era. Nicely played.
