The Peak, week of 1/2/12
« on: January 03, 2012, 12:49:58 PM »
Tue 1/3/12: 1980

in reverse order...

Another Brick Pt 1 - Pink Floyd
When I Write the Book - Rockpile
Babylon Sisters - Steely Dan
I Know What Boys Like - Waitresses
When the World Is Running Down - Police
Games People Play - APP
Start! - The Jam
Need Your Loving Tonight - Queen
Police On My Back - Clash
I Ain't Gonna Stand for It - Stevie Wonder
Clubland - Elvis Costello

rather impressive -- I'd LOVE for AL to play that Stevie Wonder tune.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Dang, I associate Police on My Back and Clubland with '81, but both debutted [sic] in late '80.

Monkees, Stones, Byrds, Marvelettes, S&G, Kinks, Blues Magoos, Rascals...

OMGWTFLOL uber-BOS the Blues Project, "Flute Song"!  And BOS2 Left Banke's "Pretty Ballerina", which makes this one go to 11. The only really unnecessary overexposed oldie in the set was "Gimme Some Lovin'". Nicely done.

uber-BOS Joni's "Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire"; BOS2 Lou Reed "Vicious"

lawdy mama: EJ sez Crock Rock is better than cock-rock.

Hey sailor: BOS4 Beach Boys, sailin' on.

VHM the Dan's "Dirty Work" and  ditto Dr Hook -- Shel Silverstein, underappreciated genius.
