Oh how I loathe TMBG!!! WOS

OMFG -- I'm gobsmacked. At last -- something we disagree on!  (It helps to be from NY to love them, I guess)

WOS Snooze Babbler.

They were around back then? :O

I wonder if DC was sick today. It seemed as if it were mostly AL's choices.

BOS Veloria.  I wonder if Gen X parents named their kids that, kinda like the Rhiannon thing in the 70s.  Veloria is a better name anyway.

I disagree with Tim's assessment. A "good" set but (like most '90s excursions) it needed some pop or country or.... something.  And a couple less borderline-'trinas.  And the "they played it on the morning show but here it is again" thing is really unnecessary and happens too often.  When I heard "Joey" in the shower this morning I thought -- "I hope AL doesn't play it again but I'll bet she does".

I dunno -- most 'early-90s sets seem along these lines to me.  I think DC is fine with '90s alt-radio fodder. Talk about hitting your demographic sweet spot.

I think Freddie P is being crankier than you today.

he hates anything that isn't RAWK from '66 to '79.

I have name for that kind of person:  Selvin

"Journey started to go downhill when Steve Perry took over."

"Dude, don't be a Selvin: Journey was never bad."

I agree...this set was pretty standardly Annalisa, but also not too DC-ized.  I think he's starting to lay off, but also she's been doing 10@10s for awhile so we're getting ALtrinas now.

I believe FP hates Perry-era Journey. He's that cranky . . . and I respect that. He also hates classic rock radio standards. Only RAWK deep cuts will do, so he's especially difficult to please, giving RG a run for his money. I think a theme of 10 songs to make FP happy would actually make a pretty decent set.
