Looks like a step above the last 2001 set...but just a step. The segues/clips today were kinda unnecessarily obnoxious.
At least everything was a bustout, afaik (not too hard for a year we've only been to once...but stranger things have happened)
Anyways, it's time for...Radical's Ratings!
Good RatingsBLenny Kravitz (I have to admit...this one isn't half bad)
REM (This one was NTM but upon first listen, was significantly better than "Imitation of Life")
Ryan Adams
Rufus Wainwright
CThe Strokes
Blink 182
DLucinda Williams
Eddie Vedder
FJohn Mayer (Complaining that he got his big break in Georgia...smh, just be lucky you got one at all
)
Nelly Furtado (She sounds like a toad and not the cute kind)
Necessary RatingsARyan Adams (Like Pete Yorn last time, quintessential AAA that doesn't get played everywhere else. Although this one got actually got into the 40s on pop, probably due to increased airplay after 9/11)
BRufus Wainwright (I enjoy Rufus but it seemed to bog down the already slow pace of this set)
Blink 182 (This wasn't a bad way to end the set)
REM (I guess I'll give this one a bye because it's not overplayed and we haven't heard them on 10@10 in what...a week?
)
CThe Strokes (Sorry, I hear this on Live 105 allllllllllllll the time)
Lucinda Williams (Might have been better if this set wasn't already so KFOG-centric)
Lenny Kravitz (Completely harmless...but not particularly necessary, other than to speed things up a notch)
DJohn Mayer (The only reason that this doesn't get an F is because it's not one of his that we hear that often)
Nelly Futado (At least she's throwing in some pop here, but something more upbeat and/or significantly less annoying would have been better)
FEddie Vedder (I just can't find any reason at all to get excited about this one appearing on 10@10)
