That was my immediate reaction, too: "Didn't we just do that year like three weeks ago?" Thanks for saving me the trouble of digging. I guess nearly two months since the last visit is not recent enough that we are justified in bitching.
Let's get right to it.

"I'll post the tunes I played on the last trip so we can come up w/10 solid new "old" tunes from the year"

Nice.  :)

The Blenders - (I'm in Love With) the McDonalds Girl
Billie Myers - Kiss the Rain
Savage Garden - To the Moon & Back
Ben Folds Five - Brick

We've had a suggestion for "Gettin' Jiggy With it" -- would AL really play Will Smith 2 days in a row?

And will Fogheads request songs from our last '98 set even though AL posted that setlist on FB? But of course!

And AL also revealed that she's not a big Madonna fan -- which explains why we never hear Ms Ciccone in '80s sets.

Maybe if he breaks up ;)

Miami would be better, imo.

RGM: In case you missed my comment on FB:

‎"Show Me Love" by Robyn and "Show Me Love" by Robin S are in fact two entirely different songs.

Loved that Ray of Light album......

I requested Wyclef Jean's "Gone Till November" and Public Enemy w/Stephen Stills "He Got Game".  The movie featured AL's boy, Ray Allen as Jesus Shuttlesworth.  Great film.

My pants are cranky today, so please take the following with a grain of salt:
The only thing worse than the late 80's on 10@10 is the late 90's, normally a wasteland of boring KFOG standards. However, Annalisa's no repeat pledge is a ray of light, if not a Ray of Light. Let's hope the pledge means no artist repeats because that would mean a change from late 90's/early 00's automatic picks like Cake, Barenaked Ladies and Smashmouth.

There does seem to be a lot of love for the "Ray Of Light" album, so maybe, just maybe..

I agree completely. I think late '80s sets have improved under AL (vs. Dave's terminally boring ones), even if today's '88 excursion was a bad example. AL's played way more late '80s pop hits in the last 2 years than Dave did in a decade.  But I still can't get a handle on what's "permissable" in '90s sets or what DC's vision is.  I will say that late '80s pop hits are (to my ears) more memorable than, say, the endless parade of Mariah Carey, Monica, Brandy, Celine and various "Artist X feat Rapper Y" atrocities.

IIRC, Annalisa's late 1980s sets at the beginning were more or less as boring as Dave's, but significantly improved after the first year.
