day-um! an '87 trifecta today. here's the most pop-oriented take -- would that a couple of these shows up in AL's version (minus the Dead and Crowded House).

Grateful Dead -Touch Of Grey
Prince -U Got The Look
Crowded House -Don't Dream It's Over
Bananarama -I Heard A Rumour
Georgia Satellites -Keep Your Hands To Yourself
Genesis -Tonight, Tonight, Tonight
Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam -Lost In Emotion

I never really cared for S/A/W's over-produced stuff, but wouldn't mind hearing "I Heard A Rumour" (though "Love In the First Degree" is a better tune, IMO)
OMFG.  Lisa Lisa!  Unfortunately, we'll never in a million years hear this on KFOG.  Que sera, que sera...   :'(

Yes -- I totally prefer "Love in the 1st..." and never understood how it missed being a Top 40 smash.

Fri 10/14/11: 1986

Miami Sound Machine -Conga
Howard Jones -No One Is To Blame
Talking Heads -Once In A Lifetime
Dream Academy -Life In A Northern Town
Bon Jovi -You Give Love A Bad Name
Double -Captain Of Her Heart
New Order -Bizarre Love Triangle
Eddie Money -Take Me Home Tonight
Janet Jackson -When I Think Of You

and speaking of playing Janet J in 1986 sets...  But What's up with that T.Heads track? It's from 1980, and the "live" version is from '84.

Excellent set, for the most part.  Maybe he programmed the wrong track from a best-of TH cd (probably meant to play "Wild Wild Life").  "Captain of Her Heart" is NTM and Miami Sound Machine never quite did it for me.  That's my fave JJ song!  Haaaaaaay!
