One of those can't-go-wrong years (I think...)  I could be obnoxious and ask for Shannon again... <cough> Your turn, RG <cough>   ;)

ETA:  Got it covered!  Thank you, POC!

wacky Foghead post of the nite (and never mind that the song is from '80, not '83):

Quote
Definitely "Cars" by Gary Numan! I haven't heard it much since HS graduation! Pretty please with a cherry on top? ;-)

What planet do you have to be on to say you haven't heard "Cars" much in the last 25+ years?

I'm going to have to bribe somebody to make a request that's ten or more years off the mark just to see how you'd react. Maybe for a 1994 set: "Oh, I haven't heard Maroon 5's 'This Love' in AGES. You MUST play it!"

I also noticed that at least two people thought it was 1980 (and also noticed that it was up to other club members to correct her!)

LOL! Fred's head would explode, I think.  We just may get our beloved Shannon tune played tomorrow.  I can feel it!

saw them last year at my favorite "county fair for hotel Artt" the Sausalito Art & Wine Fest, and they played a lot of dissonant hard-edged stuff.  I didn't know their music beyond I Melt With You, but it wasn't typical of what they played that day.

as previewed by AL: B-52s. Let's meet and have a baby -- NOW!!

This one is more silly than good -- close to HFH territory, IMHO.
