I had predicted 2003 but I'm wondering if she has a 9/11 Anniv theme on tap.

I had predicted 2003 but I'm wondering if she has a 9/11 Anniv theme on tap.

If memory serves, Dave did at least two 9/11 sets (one on the day itself, the other a week or so later). The latter was very well received, IIRC.

I doubt tomorrow will be 2003, but a 9/11 set doesn't seem to be up AL's alley either (or for that matter, DC). I'll predict an uninspiring 1990 set.

My memory is a little vague, but I do remember Dave doing a set of songs that just make you feel good if not on Sept 11, then shortly after, possibly the 12th. Not sure about the other one you mention, but it may well have been. The Shraytabase is pretty spotty during that period, and there are no sets listed for Sept. 2001.

I do remember that on the day of the Concert for New York City, Dave did a really spectacular '71 set that morning. But because KFOG, along with about every other rock station in the country, aired the simulcast that went into the 10pm hour, there was no evening replay. This was before the Marathon came into being, so that set was only heard once, thus preventing me from archiving it. Mshray and I have long lamented the loss of that set to the ages, as it really resonated with both of us. (The only thing I can tell you about it now is that it included the first airing in memory of Long John Baldry's "Don't Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie On The King of Rock & Roll."  The first entry for that song in the Shraytabase is about six months later, in March 2002.)

DING DING DING!  Swellegant Tim the Enchanter is clairvoyant. (Well, hopefully he's wrong about the "uninspiring" part, but I doubt it.)

BTW here's our most recent 1990 joint (nearly 2 months ago; I'm surprised it took so long to hit it again)

Quote
1. World Party- Way Down
 2. INXS- Suicide Blonde
 3. Jane's Addiction- Been Caught Stealing
 4. The Black Crowes- Jealous Again (B.O.S!!)
 5. Sinead O'Connor- Nothing Compares 2U
 6. Bruce Hornsby- Across The River
 7. Charlatans UK- The Only One I Know
 8. Stone Roses- Fools Gold
 9. Depeche Mode- Policy Of Truth
10. Living Colour- Type

If even one of these appears again today I will be most displeased.

Reminds me of an alcohol fueled party and lines of coke. Not the best of times.
