1 Sept 2011: it's... 1993
« on: August 31, 2011, 08:13:53 PM »
gee, maybe we'll get 4 Non-Blondes 2 days in a row...

...actually from the looks of things, I think we're destined to hear John Hiatt.  And suggestions for Haddaway, the Proclaimers and Spin Doctors -- sheesh. I suspect my plea for Tina Turner and Robin S will fall on deaf ears.  But I won't be near a radio tomorrow morning to hear anyway.  Keep detailed notes, kiddies!

ETA: someone suggested "anything from Sinatra's Duets" -- if AL goes for that I'll be floored.

I think it's pretty clear for the moment that whatever AL plays, it will be sanitized, and little chance of shocking new revelations.  Today's set was pretty pedestrian compared to the passion unleashed last night during the fb discussion.  Same for the last 60's set we heard.

This too shall pass, one way or another.

Indeed, we'll probably get a set with John Hiatt, Big Head Todd, Chris Isaak, Sting, and perhaps Duran Duran as the pop foray. Still, it doesn't hurt to swing for the fences.

I'm at bat and just requested "Whatta Man" by Salt 'N Pepa as well as The Auteurs.  If she played any of those, it would mean a grand salami in my book!

Jeez, I almost forgot to request something off of "Modern Life Is Rubbish".  <slaps forehead>

I also have to miss this set as I'm working at the preschool today.  That's OK, I can always listen on Sa...nevermind!  Speaking of which, has DC replied to RG's letter?

Which pumpkin was smashed? "Cherub Rock"? "Today"? "Rocket"?

So far so good.

Hey! Wayne!

Love me some Sir Charles.

He was recently interviewed on "Feherty", the Golf channel's new interview show.  Feherty is a quirky little Irishman, former pro golfer, current analyst on the golf channel and CBS or NBC, I can't remember which.  Mostly he has golfers on (natch), but his Barkley show was entertaining too.  I highly recommend "Feherty" to all, even non-golfers, because he's interesting and funny, and they always talk about more than golf.

the punkin was the one that says "Today is the greatest ..."  must be Today?
Ddi you know Billy Corgan has been on the Chicago area sports tv show with those guys that talk about Da Bears?  He's a big sports nerd.
