Fri 8/26/11: duets
JT & Carly, REM/Kate P, etc. Next week the Sound's doing A-to-Z, BTW -- they're asking the listeners whether they should play "Xanadu" by ONJ/ELO, or Rush, or both.
Cecelia - Simon & Garfunkel
When Loves Come to Town - U2 (Bono) & B.B. King
Stop Dragging My Heart Around - Tom Petty & Stevie Nicks
Jackson - Johnny & June Carter Cash
Under Pressure - Queen (Freddie Mercury) & David Bowie
Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meat Loaf (& Ellen Foley)
You're So Vain - Carly Simon & Mick Jagger
Whatever Gets You Through the Night - Elton John & John Lennon
Don't Give Up - Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush
I Got You Babe - Sonny & Cher
music-geeky quibble: Jagger's doing backing vox on "You're So Vain"; I'd hardly call it a duet. Ditto the EJ/Lennon they played -- why not play the live "I Saw Her Standing there" which really *was* a duet? Also, when I checked in on this set midway, they were playing REM w/Kate Pierson and had just played the Carly/JT "Mockingbird". Guess maybe this is the PM setlist?
