seems like Foghead birthdays are making a comeback.  I'll have to see if I can get a shout-out in a couple weeks.

I bet you'd compile one helluva birthday request playlist.....

I had several birthday requests in the Dave era but he never played them.  I'll be in NYC that week but "connected" so I'll have to see what AL plans -- if she posts a clue I'll make a wish.

and that Grace Jones/Adam Ant clip was priceless!

Speak Dave's name and one of his faves will appear: "Mercury Blooz".
woulda been my BOS, but I'd like to hear something else from this great album. Have they ever played anything else?

Can we make a list of 70's bands that seriously started to suck when they became Pop hitmakers in the 80's?

Chicago
The Moody Blues
Styx
REO Speedwagon
Journey
The Doobie Brothers

...more anyone?

This reminds me of an SNL sketch: "Songs that ruined everything".

I would add Yes and arguably Van Hagar.

And also Genesis. 70's Prog Rockers had to basically change or disappear from the radio.

King Crimson
Bad Company (anyone remember "If You Needed Somebody"?)
And some would argue KISS.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

oh my yes -- despite my aberrant love for "We Built This City", virtually every other single of theirs in the '80s was Hellish-with-a-capital-H.

Caught the replay of this.

BOS rare Cure and Devo. WOS Loverboy or Moody Blues. Most unnecessary: Mr Microphone.

I definitely concur r/ Starship - it all ended when the Jefferson disappeared. Actually, at least "We Built This City" was comically bad. "Nothin's Gonna Stop Us Now" isn't even something one can make fun of. Just horrid.
