14 March 2011: it's... 1988
« on: March 12, 2011, 07:19:23 PM »
the suggestion thread is up early, kids -- and we've already got requests for "Wishing Well" and "Sweet Child O'Mine" (!?!). Help stamp out Katrinas!

ETA: Bless you Swellegant Tim for reading my mind and noting that "WW" needs to be retired! (and for requesting "Little Walter" by Tony Toni Tone  -- I was thisclose to asking for it myself).

My suggestions:

Gladys/Pips, "Love Overboard"
Debbie Harry, "Liar Liar"
Kylie Minogue, "I Should Be So Lucky"
Lita Ford, "Kiss Me Deadly"

Nice requests, fellas!  Especially loved Domino Dancing.  All day, all day!

I suggested some UK indie faves:  Crash by The Primitives & Christine by The House Of Love.  Was gonna ask for Loosey's Rap by Rick James and Roxanne Shante, but figured it would be waaaay too WTF for KFOG.

Wouldn't "The Flame" violate 10@10's implicit "No Diane Warren Ever" rule?

Sadly, that ship has sailed: "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" and "If I Could Turn Back Time" have both made appearances. And I'd give dispensation for "Rhythm of the Night" by DeBarge

ETA: per Wiki, Warren didn't write "The Flame", tho' it's crappy enuf to have been one of hers.

Just checked AMG to see who *did* write it (Nick Graham and Robert Mitchell), and learned that while Diane Warren did not write this song, she did co-write another song that appears on the same album: Ghost Town, with Rick Nielsen.
Let's get right to it.

Ditto.  Saw them in a intimate nightclub that year in San Diego.  Fun show.
