Nina steals my BOS vote!
it's hard to BOS when the 'filler' between each song is MLK!  I'm at the point of tears now, listening to Nina.  This is way to close to home, current events wise.

Just noticed that the Princess is lurking today--glad to have you here among the faithful, POC!

Thanks, glad to be here! I don't remember why Sly can't stand, though...

This set is standing out for me as more memorable (heartfelt?) than previous years sets.

Damn, this RFK clip is still amazing.

U2's live "Pride" was inevitable, I guess.

I don't know if I liked it, or not. It was just the last film I saw.

I think I was the only person in the theater when it played here.

We Shall Overcome, by Toots I think.  Good one from last year's set.

I remember an episode of the show "HOT L Baltimore" when the hotel staff wanted to strike, and one woman, who was supposed to be Puerto Rican, I think, thought the words were "We shall come over..."  despite the awesomeness of that little joke, I think the show lasted one season.

BOS Allen Toussaint (ETA) and Chambers Bros

I think so. If so, today's set has included 5 of the songs from last year's set (O'Jays, Sly, Nina, Toots, and U2).  But the five that we didn't hear before have lifted this set to new heights. That Annalisa, she gets it.

I didn't think anyone but me remembered that show -- you must've been 6 years old when it was on!

I thought so too--the amount of time it took for her to open the mic was pretty lengthy, and then she seemed to pause after naming each song.
Let's get right to it.
