BOS Peter Murphy -- I saw him in NYC in 89 and I *think* he played Cuts You Up.  "This is a new one..."

Continuing in the same good-but-not-earth-shattering vein, Happy Mondays' reworking of John Kongos into "Step On."  I love dancing to Madchester beats.

I'll give this a BOS3, it's not as frequent as these other fliers (not in the AL era, anyway).  "you're twistin' mah MELON, man!"

Nice!

BOS: "Nelson Mandela is a free man."  The Soupy segue works nicely.

BOS #2 for Soup Dragons, another Madchester-ish remake that is loads of fun to dance to.

The Black Crowes just gives me a headache.

Bwahahaha!  I think we were married in a previous lifetime, SG.  The Crowes to me are just uninteresting and recycled. It's as if Skynyrd and the Georgia Sattellites got married and had a baby.

VHM "I'm Free", but really, none of the interesting suggestions on FB made it into this set.

Yes - this song especially.  I remember showing up for a Pascal class, and that fall a few of my friends had discovered modern-rock radio and were suddenly talking about bands like Soup Dragons.  It was refreshing for me after years of hair metal and arena rock dominating the conversation.

Hey Mark, when you get a chance, drop me a note offlist.  My greetings to Christina, Adrian and Gabriel!

no, it's as if Skynyrd and the Georgia Sattellites got married and after trying and failing to have a baby they adopted.

BOS #3 for Jane's, track one off of Ritual de lo Habitual.

I always thought this much more deserving of mainstream success than "Been Caught Stealing"

ha! from a white-trash orphanage!

I'm thinking this Jane's Addiction thing is a bustout, but that doesn't mean I like it.
