"Only the beginning of what I want to feel forever."  Perfect way to kick things off, though it'd have been an even better Tune No. 10.  At least we're getting the lo-o-ong version, with woodblocks and tambourine weaving and bobbing about the coda.

Great article in a recent issue of SPIN about all-female cover bands (AC/D-She, etc) -- this song being a fave of "Lez Zeppelin", led by lead singer Roberta Plant, natch.  Har Har.

Zeppelin following worked in the odd juxtaposition manner.  Dave would have used his Python, Monty clip for that one.

I always thought this was derivative of what the Chambers Bros were doing at the time in their live shows.  It's just a percussion vamp, so I could never prove it, but the Chambers Bros were the only band getting people off their butts back then at the Fillmore and Winterland.  At the time, it was customary to just sit on the floor and groove to the show.

Elvis wins BOS!  "Suspicious Minds" = perfect pop songwriting and even better production.  Anyone know offhand who plays the wiggly guitar lick?

I would have thought the Jefferson Airplane were doing the same, with "Plastic Fantastic Lover" and such, but they were writing less danceable stuff in 68-69.
