I'd rather buy a brate than sell one.

but you're perfectly happy to Renteria, right?

or maybe you'd like to Rent-to-own-eria?  Lease-eria?

ok, I'll stop

AL on FB says she's considering giving the "Giants Part 1" set from a few weeks ago an encore...

Whose version of "I Thank You" is this? it ain't the Sam & Dave orig. Al dredges up the oddest re-recordings.
Yeah, I noticed that too.  It's certainly one of them, maybe both, but a much later recording.  Maybe Blues Brothers 2000 soundtrack?

TANC: I just got a 2-disc UK "Northern Soul" comp that isn't very "Northern" at all  (Ike & Tina, Sam & Dave, Dr John, Little Richard, Rufus Thomas, the Staples -- WTF?) and it includes a not-the-original "I Thank You" by S&D that may be the one we heard earlier. Or not.

That set looks a bit better on paper than it played, especially if you didn't know 2 of the songs showed up on the Morning Show yesterday.  I kept imagining a Dave Morey version, which would've undoubtedly closed with Carmen MacRae, "I'm Always Drunk in San Francisco"

Just be glad that a couple of usual suspects weren't played, even with a lot of FB requests. I'm looking at you, Jon Fogerty (and James Brown as well).

Weren't both of those in the Giants set at the beginning of the playoffs?

Yep, but some FBers really really wanted to hear them again.

FB Fogheads have a firm grasp of the obvious. And for folks who (presumably) are regular 10@10 listeners, they have some serious short-term memory loss  ;)

I'm listening with ya.

And I was just fruging violently to the end of "These Boots."  I whipped my hair back and forth!

And the combo of Tinka's Renteria pun and Mike's Celebrate pun had me chanting "Renteria! Celebrate! Renteria! Celebrate!" in my head.
