14 Oct 2010: it's... 1968!
« on: October 14, 2010, 07:43:10 AM »
anything AL plays will be fab; an encouraging number of obscurities on the FB page.

it's a "Beautiful Morning" indeed! Lead the way, AL!

I asked for "Sweet Blindness" but I'll settle for "Stoned Soul Picnic" -- trains of possum, er, blossoms!  Blinky Griptite turned this into "Stoned Soul Christmas" a few years back.

"I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free" -- BOS but I'm not sure whose version this is.

ETA: Just realized it's Solomon Burke.

I actually thought of him, since he died recently.  I didn't know if he went back that far, but suspected he did.

Fun, perfect for this weather set. Gotta BOS Cry Like A Baby - The Box Tops (though I prefer Mr. Chilton's Big Star voice).

But if you go carryin' pictures of Chairman Mao...

you might be subjected to "Hey Jude" for the umpteenth time. I declare an "HJ" moratorium.

But the "black power salute" guy is in the news today:
