VHM Dirty Mary and Crazy larry; BOS and proxy of Rod, J. Geils -- "My Grammar/Spelling Book Must Of Got Lost"
I missed the beginning of this song.  She didn't do the super-duper-intro version, did she?

no -- that's the live version; this was the orig studio cut, if I'm not mistaken.

BadCo arrive to doo-wacka-doo. Or something. I predict a "Can't Get Enuf" twin-spin --paging Barry White!

Dingdingding!!!! How'd you know?
Let's get right to it.

Madeline Kahn: Hosted SNL in both 1976 and 1995. Which might be the longest gap in the show's history.

BOS3 and proxy of Gaz "Ride The Tiger"!

Got to hear it on the replay; thanks for the proxy.  BOS to their rather naive apprehension of Eastern thought.

oh my yes.  ;)

(Actually it just seems so; 4 appearances in the db and one was an Election Day set. But I sure seem to recall AL playing it before.)

Watergate --> "US Blues" --> me getting bored.

First off, that is hilarious.  Well played, Mike.

US Blues is featured in the Grateful Dead Movie, which we watched several times during one week in college.  A housemate had it on laser disc - the only movie he had.  So he rented a laser disc player from some video store so he could finally see the thing.

I admit I sat in several times to watch it *cough cough* and this song always reminds me of that smoky hazy time.  Thank heavens it's over.

I only asked because while I know it's tiresome to some, just because, I think Mars Hotel is a major jewel from 1974, and often overlooked in the press, and on radio.  I'm not surprised to read it was only played 4 times, and I'll bet most often in a non-74 context.
