Rob plays our beloved "Elenor". Gee, I think he's swell. Plus "40,000 Headmen" and Crazy Arthur Brown. Oh, and Mary Hopkin reminisces.

Thur 10/14/10: 1976?

Rob hits the '70s for the 2nd time this week -- Mr Palmer's fine "Man Smart, Woman Smarter" amd Ms Armatrading's "Love & Affection" are highlights but Mink DeVille's "Let me Dream if I want to" is the ATBB of the week, with the Band's version of "Georgia on my Mind" close behind.

Catching this month-specific set on the replay.  Cute clip from Sledge Hammer, a show I'd all but forgotten about.  How do I not know this China Crisis song?  The sophistipop is right up my alley.  BOS.

Hearing "You Can Call Me Al" reminds me of a moment I'll immodestly relate: While living in Boston in summer 2001, I was walking with my friends Sarah and Alli in the Boston Common.  As we crossed a bridge above the Duck Pond, a guy with a camera called out, "Photo opportunities!"  I hollered back in the same barker style, "Shots at redemption!"  Happily, they both got the ref and dissolved into laughter.
