Hump Day is '60s Day again. Something tells me Sly's "Hot Fun" will make a rather obvious weather-related appearance.

ETA: I opted for Neil D singing about a hot August nite; here's hoping.

indeed, I think I prefer it to the poppier solo version. But The Isley Bros take remains my fave.

Sounds like it was recorded with the Beach Boys in mind. Unquestionable BOS--can't wait to hear what she has to top this.

speaking of languid, "white" orig versions of songs later covered soulfully (Jr Walker's version of "These Eyes" is another fave).

VHM Python, "funniest joke" skit, but AL really shoulda played "Laughing" instead of "These Eyes". But BOS2 "I Started A Joke".

BOS3 and proxy of Gaz, Turtles, "You Showed me", one of my requests -- didn't realize how well it would fit AL's "mellow" vibe today.
