She just corrected herself, and it was Sir Mix-A-Lot she thought was Digital Underground  :o

I realized a lot of rap "sounds the same" to a lot of (older?) white folks, but Humpty's voice is high and nasal and Sir M's is deep'n'nasty.

Obviously I have to pick "Good Stuff" for BOS, although I'm pleasantly surprised Sir Mix-A-Lot got played too. How edited was the version played?

And obviously I'll have to listen to the replay.

Uh sure.  (Not really.  I just thought it was a funny thing to throw out there.  Also kind of a Marky Mark thing:  "Say hi to your mother for me.")

10. Sir Mix-a-Lot- Baby Got Back (BOS!!)

2nd time this week that a rap song won BOS -- I'm interested to see if this results in more rap requests honored in '80s/'90s sets, and I'm also curious if there was any kind of pushback via phone or email from rap-hatas complaining to AL. I'm not a fan of gangsta stuff from the '90s onward, but the earlier records that are either funny/clever (like "Bust a Move") or political (like "The Message") would be welcome.
