Eric wants to be with you.  Not surprising, since he also wants you to go all the way.
Raspberries did mini-reunion tours in 2005 and '07. Wish they had come to Bay Area!
Here they are from '05 with "Go All The Way" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga40-L0r4bo
PS- They've got a nice website: http://www.raspberriesonline.com/main.shtml

Raspberries had a reunion in 2007. Wish they had come to Bay Area!
But did they have a scratch-and-sniff concert?

I don't wanna argue... But "Starry Eyes" is one of the greatest singles of the '70s.  The writ has hit the fan!

You just can't get any Byrdsier than the Records.  Great song.

Must request the Bangles version next time we're in '86.

Was that live AL, or did she pre-record the updated wrap-up?  She's not in today, right? Extra credit for doing it in any case.

For completeness' sake:

7/23/10- Friday!! An Encore presentation: Power Pop Friday!

 1.  Replacements- Alex Chilton
 2.  Nick Lowe- So It Goes
 3.  The Plimsouls- A Million Miles Away
 4.  Marshall Crenshaw- Someday, Someway
 5.  Badfinger- No Matter What
 6.  Bram Tchaikovsky- Girl Of My Dreams
 7.  The Raspberries- I Wanna Be With You
 8.  The Flamin' Groovies- Shake Some Action
 9.  The Records- Starry Eyes
(News: Rep. Steve Cohen (D) of TN memorializing Alex Chilton on the house floor in DC)
10.  Big Star- September Gurls

Just checked, and four of these songs (Girl of My Dreams, Shake Some Action, Starry Eyes, and September Gurls), are represented on the definitive Rhino power pop collection Poptopia!, and three more of these artist show up with other songs (Nick Lowe, Raspberries, and Badfinger).

For my money it's a near definitive collection, or at least as much as one can cram into a single disc. It's still the best distillation of the genre I can think of.

and most of the songs on Poptopia! (except the Big Star; I think there were licensing issues) appeared on the 4 "Power Pop" (2 American, 2 British) volumes of Rhino's now-out-of-print D.I.Y. series, which I was lucky to grab cheaply after they were deleted.

when you said Rhino Powerpop I thought of the Wondermints' Proto-Pretty -- which appears on the 90s release:

I lurve that jangly tune. One of my faves.
