Mr Steinbrenner died of a heart attack in Tampa, FL.  He had just turned 80 on July 4th.  Since taking over the Yankees in 1973, the team won seven World Series, 11 American League pennants and 16 AL East titles. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/07/13/sports/s065029D54.DTL&tsp=1

He almost gets a RIH from me.  He made his money off his daddy's business and ruined baseball for most small-market teams.

maybe a salary cap is needed.  They could call it the Steinbrenner Cap.

Howeverr, the Players' Union would fight it tooth, nail and hypodermic.

Here's hoping.

(Sorry Sundaygal, but as much as you love the Yanks, I fall into the opposite camp. No offense meant to you.)
Let's get right to it.
