Yankees longtime (1951-07) public address announcer Bob Sheppard was 99. 
Dubbed "The Voice of God," he was also the stadium voice of the NFL NY Giants from 1956-05:

I always thought that title was held by John Facenda.

as with everything else, Noo Yawkers think their "voice of god" is better than anyone else's.
