Found this after I discovered (2 years late) that Hiram Bullock had passed away.  :-{

I think you'll enjoy it:

Selected entertaining/interesting posts:

On Betty White on SNL:  http://debris-slide.blogspot.com/2010/05/white-lie.html

Great find of Regina Spector + Ben Folds Five: http://onepoorcorrespondent.blogspot.com/2008/12/late-show.html
(Updated YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBENegDzoUw)

On "I've Never Been To Me" (which I only knew from "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", my favorite movie about a travelling group of Australian drag queens):  http://onepoorcorrespondent.blogspot.com/2008/08/one-hit-wonder-week-ive-never-been-to.html

On "Steal My Sunshine" (great one-hit wonder from 1999): http://onepoorcorrespondent.blogspot.com/2008/08/one-hit-wonder-week-steal-my-sunshine.html

Great Ricky Jay card shuffling trick (that I just posted on my FB): http://onepoorcorrespondent.blogspot.com/2008/09/hollywood-shuffle.html

Funny observance about Phil Spector's Christmas album:

Question of the Day

So when Phil Spector put out A Christmas Gift for You back in 1963, was it free? If it wasn't, shouldn't it have been called A Christmas Gift for You to Buy and Give to Somebody Else?
Alas, most of the Youtube links for older posts have fallen victim to takedown notices.  Idiots.

Phrases That Leonard Cohen Got to Rhyme With "Hallelujah" in the Song of the Same Name
Do ya?

The moonlight overthrew ya

How to shoot at someone who outdrew ya

I used to live alone before I knew ya

Do ya? (again!)

What's it to ya?

I didn't come to fool ya

Amazing work - thanks for cluing us in.  His closing note to his old blog mirrors my ambivalent feels about maintaining my own, which I've mostly neglected to do in recent months.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
