"Motherless Children" by Steve Miller, Tom Jones/Portishead, or Clapton.  Something from Mother Earth perhaps? "Your Mother Should Know" or "Mother Nature's Son" from the Beatles.  "Mother's Lament" from Cream would be quite a stretch.

ABBA's "Does Your Mother Know" or "Mamma Mia."

Some fairly uncreative Fogheads on AL's FB page; I suggested the Junior, J-5, Fountains of Wayne and Queen songs mentioned above, as well as EJ's "Mama Can't Buy You Love"

AL nixed Lennon's "Mother" as "too sad and painful".
