Hüsker Dü, I'm thinking -- this sounds like Bob Mould. I never got into them, but I can see how they were influential.
I'll echo that sentiment. I kinda feel that way about the Replacements too. They're OK, but what's the big deal? And I can't get past the association with the kid's game called Hüsker Dü. Remember that commercial?
don't remember that game, gotta say. Although I also wasn't into the 'Mats (as they are called aroud here sometimes), I have to say they have some songs that are accessible in a purely pop sense, like
I'll Be You, for instance. And at least Paul Westerberg can carry a tune and his voice sounds pretty good, esp when compared to Bob Mould's.
