ugh, hate that Golden Earring song.

compare this middling threadbare snoozefest set to AL's 83 set from today.   Where's the new wave?   U2's Two Hearts ... is the closest we get to a something fresh sounding.  But I get it, the Drive isn't the place to hear anything other than AC or AAA or whatever the acronym is.

I'm sure Bob (or his PD) considers Billy Idol, the Romantics, U2 and the Police to be NewWave -- which would make this one of his most left-leaning '80s sets in ages, according to that standard.  But yeah, it's the Midwest and we like our rock solid and stolid. The only thing missing is Rush ;)

Thur 4/1/10: April Fools

Beatles - Fool on the Hill
Def Leppard - Foolin'
Foghat - Fool For the City
Chris Rea - Fool If You Think It's Over
Tom Petty - Fooled Again
Who - Won't Get Fooled Again
Styx - Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)
Led Zeppelin - Fool in the Rain
Elvis Presley - Fool Such as I
Steve Perry - Foolish Heart

Nicely played -- BOS Steve Perry, whose "Foolish Heart" is as lovely to my ears as his "Oh Sherrie" is gratingly fingernails-on-a-blackboard-ish.  Gotta catch the replay to see if Bob played the orig 45 of the Chris Rea or if he got stuck with one of those bogus re-recordings.
