19 March 2010: it's a Power Pop Friday!
« on: March 18, 2010, 02:21:02 PM »
in honor of Alex Chilton. "The news is sad but the music won't be" sez AL on the KFOG page. Raspberries, The Knack, Big Star and... ??

ETA: I emailed AL with these suggestions:

Pezband, "Baby It's Cold Outside"
Piper (Billy Squier's first band), either "Can't Wait" or "Who's Your Boyfriend?"
Rubinoos, "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend"

Oh my yes! Add "Starry Eyes" by the Records and you've got the 1979 12-string-guitar trifecta.

I guess I'm not all that clear on the definition, but it's an interesting set so far.  BOS Bram T.

Wayback's list, actually. I doubt we're gonna get my Pezband request, tho' the Rubinoos may make it.

Woo Hoo!  "Shake Some Action" is the one I was holding out for.  Overall BOS to SF's own Groovies.
