... which I'll have to miss due to an off-site meeting. Hrm... in what years is it "legal" to play Big Star?

'72 and '74. Don't think they had any chart action, so there's only the year of release to go by.  And AL has visited both 72 and 74 since the first of the month (72 just last week) so if she goes that route I'd guess we'll hear 74 again.

Or someone will. I have a ton of stuff to do this am, so may not be able to listen. :(

Tuesday's Gone, and so is Alex Chilton.   :'(

Gotta give another BOS, I was very much into Southern Rock in my earlier years.   Unfortunately (for me anyway) '73 is too early for Outlaws or Molly Hatchet.

Alex Chilton was a pretty weird character, I understand.  My brother-in-law was involved in scheduling musical groups to come and play on campus at Pomona in the mid-80s.  Apparently, Chilton slept on the couch in b-i-l's dorm.

Thougth AL might have slipped Big Star in with the Southern rock segment--they were from Memphis, so they'd qualify, sorta. Or maybe they're coming after the Mott tune?

In any case, BOS1 & 2 to Ooh La La and All the Way From Memphis.

I've never heard it before.  It's got a lot of John Kongos in it.  A lot of good stuff in this set.

I'd have said it wasn't, but per the DB it is.  Sorry to miss it--I had to bail during the Paul Simon to head out for a haircut.

But! AL must have lurked in the Movie Monday thread and seen someone's request for a Motown Monday or Wordless Wednesday, cause next Monday we travel to the Motor City. Suggestions requested.
