OMG, 2 80's sets AND a 90s set in the same week.  When was the last time that happened?  RadicalDigits is very happy.  ;D

Sounds like REM to kick things off.

Philomath is where we'll go.

I'm quite surprised at the lack of a movie themed set.  Ya think there's friction between the Morning Show and 10@10 now that they have different hosts?

Why would you think that?  (no sarcasm, in case it sounds that way)

Good TOTHK from REM.  I've been humming "South Central Rain" since last night, so it's nice to knock that outtathere.

I've heard many party bands do this over the years, but have only heard New Order's version twice.

I just wonder about programming not wanting to duplicate things or prevent overkill -- "no, AL, you can't do an Oscar-themed 10@10 because the Morning Show is doing 4 hours of movie-related Request-O-Rama".  When Dave hosted both shows the dynamic was a bit different.

Since moving to OR I snicker whenever I hear that line about Philomath in "Can't Get There From Here." I don't think Stipe was singing about the one near Corvallis:

But Rastermon probably know more about it than I do.

Who's this doing tune #2? Like it but don't recognize it.
Let's get right to it.

Pick your fave '85 song and e-mail it to her--she could call an audible, she's done it before!

Is this David Gilmour doing song #3? I don't recognize the song, but it sounds kinda like him singing.

HM to 17-year-old Charlie Sexton on "Beat's So Lonely."

sounds a lot more like Bruce Cockburn to me, but that's not a definitive answer.

You may be right--the backing track sounded decidedly un-Gilmourian. Guess we'll have to wait for the backsell to find out.

Definitely Gilmour, though I didn't recognize it.
