I don't recognize the singer of song 2, but this is a cover of someone more famous, right?

You've just won a job on the Morning Show!  ;)

Unless AL has some epic piece in store, this is gonna be a quickie! (bada-BUMP-tish!)
Let's get right to it.

Buzzcocks, with the original of a song that was arguably made more famous by Fine Young Cannibals.

BOS from me.
I see.  I'll have to poke around and see what sounds more familiar.

it's on the soundtrack to the movie Something Wild, starring Melanie Griffith, Jeff Daniels and Ray Liotta.  Very good soundtrack overall....

BOS2 to "Happy Together," I don't care how overplayed some may think it.  :)

You've read my mind. It is great. And it is overplayed.

"Love Will Tear Up Apart" should have come after "Love Will Keep Us Together" instead of "Happy Together."

BOS2 Joy Division, also the original (covered by Paul Young, of all people).

right on for Joy Division, even though this is the ONLY song you ever hear from them (well, on KFOG, anyway, which is understandable).

they only did two albums, though, methinks.

This song is OK, but I don't like the way he sings consistently flat.  It grates on me.

Of all the Beatles love songs, certainly not the one I expected today. BOS3 for precisely that reason.

Unless AL has some epic piece in store...

"Paradise By the Dashboard Light", perhaps?

What the heck was that clip?  And weird stuff from the Monks (looked it up), hating you with a passion.

I think I've heard this before, can't place it.   guitar sounds a little like the riff to Teenage Kicks.

Davefish gets the prize: it's the Monks. The clip was Liz & Dick from Virginia Woolf.

That'd work, but I was hoping to hear something a little less well-circulated.

Was that last piece (I Hate You?) the Monks? No clue here.
