My first BOS of the day: Iggles, Victim of Love.

This song has Joe Walsh's mark all over it--excellent guitars throughout.

Also a nice segue from Mr. Bill into VoL.

OMG, I was thinking the same thing in almost the exact same mental wording: "This has Joe Walsh all over it." I swear it, you gotta believe me.

... a good slow-riff ride from Joe!

Dontchoo cry no more.

BOS #4 Kansas!

The Band played this earlier, at about 7 AM. I made my cat do a dance to it. (That's what she gets for climbing on the bed...)

Two songs, two bustouts so far. And Foghat, nearly as I can tell, is an artist bustout, too. Although I'd swear we'd heard Slow Ride at some point in the past.

that's surprising...

indeed -- "Smokin'" is a Drive perennial, so it sure seems like I've heard it a lot.

Carry on my WOS: Kansas
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

I just remembered, COMWS is another one for the Harpsichord list.

The arena rock continues with Kansas. It's prog pop-rock, dude!

I remember spending an afternoon hanging out with a friend at his bro's house, who was a bassist in a local bar band. He spent the entire afternoon practicing the bass part for this song, so we must have heard the same 15 bars of the song about 50 times. Or it seemed like it.
Let's get right to it.

given the choice, I'll take the Partridge family over Kansas every time.

And forgive the crankypants, but bustouts or no, this is strictly AOR hitsville so far -- like one of Bob's '76 sets on the Drive.

well here you go then!  "Boogie Man" gets a BOS for the horn section if nothing else.

Welcome to the machine. You've been absorbed into the collective consciousness. It happens to all of us eventually. :)

BOS2 K.C. et all--he's our Boogie Man. You turn him on, I'm not in the mood.

not sure about that. Sound like ∏-anna to me.  I think it's just pitch-adjusted to sound higher.

if you ever get a  chance to catch KC and His Sunshine Band at some county fair, it wouldn't be a waste of time.  He has so many hits and his band puts on a decent show.  BOS to the aging pasty plump King of Dee-sco!

PS  Do we know why the site is so slow these days?

I probably shouldn't say anything for fear of jinxing myself, but for the first time in a week I haven't had any timeouts since the set began.  (However it did timeout a handful of times between 9:30 and 10am.)

BOS3 Maxine Nightingale, a Davefave to be sure, but always sounding good with that chugging, handclappin' rhythm.
Let's get right to it.
