Bowie's TVC15 reminds me of NY, too. He performed it on SNL with backup singers Klaus Nomi and Joey Arias, two very gender bending NYC performance artists, here looking very alien from outer space. Bowie always knows how to reinvent himself, using whatever popular trends he could appropriate.
